Gecko Rock Private Nature Reserve

De Wet's Rus is one of only two campsites at Gecko Rock Private Nature Reserve, set in a stunning Karoo valley bordered by mountains. Accommodates up to 20 vehicles (60 people). Facilities include a kitchen with cold running water, 4 toilets and 4 showers in two separate locations, central braai area, movable braais for private camping, 1x 8-seater table and benches, and a seasonal splash pool (mid-September to mid-April). Shop at reception sells firewood, firelighters, matches, tea, coffee, milk, cold drinks, ice, chips and sweets. Walking and cycling trails nearby. Unmatched sunrises, magical sunsets, panorama of stars.

Echo Valley is the second and smaller of only two campsites at Gecko Rock. Nestled in a private valley ideal for smaller groups who prefer total privacy. Exclusive use year-round — the whole site is yours. Located close to the Seattle 4WD trail and Gecko Crag climbing walls. Facilities: kitchen with running water, 1 private toilet and shower, central braai area, small plunge pool. Shop at reception sells firewood, firelighters, matches, tea, coffee, milk, cold drinks, ice, chips and sweets. Old Karoo windpump turns in the breeze — iconic Karoo scene. SUVs and bakkies only — passenger cars NOT permitted.
