The Owl Camp — Exclusive Stand

The Owl Camp at Platbos is the only camping stand in South Africa's most southerly indigenous forest — set beneath a fine old white stinkwood tree. Completely exclusive and off-grid. Facilities are for the sole use of the booking party (max 4 people). Private composting loo with a view, open-air hot shower via donkey boiler (wood supplied), fire pit and braai grid, sink for washing up, picnic table, and use of communal freezer in the Freezer Hut on the fire break. Forest Trail walkable free of charge (8am–5pm). No reception office — detailed directions and gate codes sent after booking. Tents or 4x4 camper vans only (max vehicle height 2.5m).
