Rooiheuwel Holiday Farm has 12 shaded campsites under thorn trees in the Nuweveld Mountains of the Great Karoo, 80km west of Beaufort West. Each pitch has its own tap and power point. Communal ablution block with flush toilets, showers, washbasins and a donkey geyser (wood-fired hot water). Communal camping kitchen with 3 sinks, power points and water. Large communal fireplace for group braais. 2x 8kg bags of braaiwood included per site per night. Three mountainous 4x4 routes (grading 2–4) plus two riverbed routes — one of the best 4x4 experiences in the Great Karoo. Also offers horse riding, mountain biking and hiking trails. Exotic bird collection, sheep and game on the farm. Karoo lamb and boerewors available to pre-order. Owner Marge Vivier lives on the farm — warm Karoo hospitality.
