The Kliphuis area at Sanddrif offers 10 additional campsites separate from the 31 main riverbank sites. Kliphuis (Afrikaans for 'stone house') refers to the traditional stone structures characteristic of this area of the Cederberg. Same facilities and pricing as main campsites apply. Ideal for those who prefer a slightly more remote or private feel away from the main campsite area. Full Cederberg experience — world-class hiking, stargazing and rock art access.

Sanddrif's 31 main campsites sit under shady trees on the banks of the Matjies River — one of South Africa's most iconic camping destinations in the heart of the Cederberg Wilderness. Every site has electricity and its own built-in braai (bring your own grid and tools). Clean communal ablution blocks with gas and solar geysers — tap water is safe to drink and toilet paper is included. Safe playground for children. The Dwarsrivier farm shop stocks wood, snacks, cool drinks, ice, Cederberg Wines and craft beer — no fresh produce except pre-ordered homemade bread during April long weekends and December holidays. Wine tasting and sales at Cederberg Private Cellar on the farm. Activities: hiking (permits at reception), mountain biking, trail running, rock climbing, swimming in the Maalgat rock pools, and world-class stargazing. No cell signal — VoIP payphone at office.
